Derek spends time skinny-dipping and Harris is so clearly drunk off his ass while making this that even his scenes are beyond idiotic. The movie actually starts when Bo Derek’s Jane meets her father Richard Harris in the jungle for an adventure of some sort. The movie opens up with a few scenes that go nowhere and I have absolutely no idea what was happening in them. Let’s get this over with, here’s Tarzan the Ape Man. This was truly and utterly awful and I will have nothing positive to say about it. Because of this movie all the other bad Tarzan movies and knock-offs I have watched seem good in comparison and because of this movie I can take all kinds of bad Tarzan films thrown my way. It is one long smutty jungle “adventure” with no real story or characters and feels more like one long acid trip than a movie. If Sex Kittens Go to College (1960) didn’t have that endless robot dream sex scene then this would be the worst movie I ever saw.
